WAR
“What is it good for?” Woke up in the early Saturday morn, February 26, 2026. Alert on my phone, CNN reports war with Iran. American and Israeli missiles and drones rain down on Tehran. Lightning and thunder man-made. “What is it good for?” Distraction from Epstein files? Nuclear threat from Iran completely obliterated a second time? Armageddon leading to the Second Coming? “What is it good for?” Undeclared war again, gutless Congress condones it. “What is it good for?” Six dead Americans, thousands of dead Iranians, including hundreds of children. Just the beginning. So much pointless death. “What is it good for?” Orange headed rooster with breast puffed up, Struts around his chicken pen crowing victory where none is possible. Cackling red capped hens crow with him. “What is it good for?” War against Iraq, an expensive distraction. Real deaths here, Not a movie of The Tail Wagging The Dog. “What is it good for?” Memories and nightmares for those at home and abroad. Sleepless nights. Returning to previous experiences; Vietnam. Iraq. Kuwait. Nine eleven. “What is it good for?” Once started, never ends. New generations of radicals created by Americans making the world safe for democracy. “War, Huh, What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!”** – Branwen Rhiannon Drew, March 6, 2026. **Note: Inspired by “War” by Catherine Wells, Nov. 1915.
